Boundary Canyon Preview
Boundary Canyon does not require a permit and it located on the national park boundary. Please be aware that you will need a permit if you choose to do the full boundary and exit out the narrows as opposed to using the MIA exit. The hike starts at the West Rim trail head and moved east toward Kolob creek down a dusty dirt road. About 2 miles down the dirt road, hikers move north and drop down into Boundary Canyon. After the technical section, there is a couple miles of hiking until reaching Kolob Creek. About 45 minutes down stream, hikers reach the MIA exit and turn right heading up the slope to take the escape route. Boundary is a gorgeous canyon full of waterfalls and bliss and should be attempted by only experienced canyoneers.
Wet suits are virtually required and the longest rappel is about 200 feet.
