Englestead Hollow Preview
Englestead Hollow does require a permit and is mostly located on the national park boundary. The first rappel is nearly 300 feet, matching the biggest in the park. This rappel can be done as two-stage (as shown) or can be done as one rappel from the other side of the canyon. After the technical section which includes about 8 rappels, hikers reach Orderville Canyon and can gear down for the exit about 6 miles down Orderville out the narrows. Orderville Canyon is a gorgeous canyon full of waterfalls and bliss and can be navigated by intermediate hikers.
An alternate escape route may be taken by going upstream at Orderville canyon instead of out the narrows. This should be done by one with knowledge of the area and a GPS on hand as the terrain can be difficult to navigate.
